Sharpham Pinot Noir 2020

Making red wine in a cool climate is a challenge, but this has become one of our best-sellers, though production is limited. Expect bright aromas of wild strawberry, dark cherry and cranberry with a hint of baking spice. A rounded and delicate palate with a redcurrant acidity, fine tannins and spice on the finish. This wine is drinking well in its youth but those with patience will reap the rewards a few years down the line.

Wine Making
Our cleanest Pinot Noir fruit is part crushed and cold macerated forfour days prior to the fermentation with the inclusion of some whole bunch and stems. There is a post fermentation maceration period of at least a week before malolactic fermentation. This wine then spent 8 months in second fill French oak barrels prior to bottling without any fining or filrtation.
