We’re bursting into the New Year with the launch of our latest orange wine from our ‘Don’t Feed The Ponies’ range which showcases minimal intervention winemaking in small batches of experimental wines.
A complex and textured 'orange wine' where we rely on spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast, 2-week maceration on skins, minimal sulphur and no fining or filtration.
The nose has layered aromas of ruby grapefruit, white strawberry, and orange peel, with raspberry and sour stone fruit flavours on the palate supported by soft and grippy tannins, a taut acidity and a long generous finish.
‘Don’t Feed The Ponies’ is a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat. We’ve also commissioned artist Becky Baier to design the labels for the newest wines in this range.
