Our 2022 harvest has now finished with the last parcel of fruit coming in on Friday 21st October. It is safe to say that this year's crop is nothing less than exceptional in terms of both yield and quality, and already things are shaping up nicely in the winery.
Our head winemaker and CEO Duncan says "This will be one of the best vintages to date. The grapes have great fruit intensity, high sugars and balanced acidity."
We also held our first ever community picks this year too, and what a turnout we had! We welcomed a total of 80 volunteers over the two days, all of whom put in a fantastic effort and helped bring some flawless fruit back to the winery. The atmosphere was great and we treated everyone to a BBQ and a glass of wine afterwards. Based on the success of these two community days, we'll be looking at running more next harvest for sure.
Although things have quietened down in the vineyard now, it's all action in the winery as we turn the fruits of the summer into wine. As usual, we will be releasing our New Release 2022 vintage on the third Thursday of November (17/11/22) which is also Beaujolais Nouveau Day! Our New Release is always a great indication of what to expect from the year, and already the components that could be blended to make the 2022 vintage are tasting great.
We'd like to finish by saying a huge thank you to all of our community pickers who helped to make this harvest such a success. We'll see you back next year!
