Stewart, a Devon‑based printmaker with over 30 years’ experience and Creativepool’s 2024 Artist of the Year. His acclaimed Tree Portraits series explores our connection with the natural world, drawing on street trees, ash dieback, fire‑scarred Joshua trees and the lichen‑laden oaks of Dartmoor. Working from his Dartmouth studio, Stewart creates layered gelliplate monoprints using masking, stencils and textured compositions, with recent rapid studies capturing the energy of temperate rainforests.
