Introducing a lip-smacking new red wine to our range, just in time for the beginning of autumn, if it hasn't already arrived!
Pinot Noir Précoce is our early-ripening red grape, known as Frühburgunder in Germany (and loosely translates as early Burgundy). It’s one of the first grapes we pick every year, and the 2025 vintage is already in tank. We always think Précoce is darker, both in colour and in fruit profile, and can offer a red with more weight and power than some other later ripening Burgundian clones. So if you lean towards fuller-bodied wines, this one’s for you.
The 2024 vintage was partially fermented with whole bunches in a closed tank environment to encourage carbonic maceration, kind of like how Beaujolais is made, which really makes the fruit pop. We wanted it to be super juicy and easy-drinking so opted for shorter extraction times than usual to keep the tannin low and the fruit high.
Expect wild bramble fruit, black cherry and a touch of earthiness on the nose. On the palate, you're immediately hit with sweet plum and cherry, warm spice, soft tannins and a balanced acidity. Perfect for charcuterie, mature cheeses or a beef casserole with a chunk of bread.
