Wednesday 21st September marked the beginning of our 2022 harvest here at Sandridge Barton! So far we have picked our early-ripening clone of Pinot Noir, Madeleine Angevine and Bacchus, and a few ferments have begun already!
We marked this year's harvest with our first ever community pick where we invited people to spend a day helping to harvest our fruit. It wasn't all hard work as we put on a big BBQ and of course opened a few bottles of wine afterwards to enjoy in the late September sunshine. A massive thank you is due to all that took part on the day!
As the event was such was such a success, it's likely we'll host another community pick on the 15th October (weather permitting!), so if you're interested in coming along please email harvest@sandridgebarton.com.
Did you know... Our annual production averages at around 60,000-70,000 bottles from our 26 acre Sandridge Barton vineyard. We could well top that this year after such an exceptional growing season! It's worth noting that yields vary exceptionally due to our unpredictable English climate; for example, in 2017 we produced around 50,000 bottles, but then hit max capacity in our old Sharpham winery in 2018 at 120,000 bottles!
In other news...
We're excited to announce that Circa will be serving a dinner menu every Friday evening throughout October and booking is available now!
Head chef Rob and his kitchen team have curated a special evening menu that will launch on Friday 7th October. If this proves popular we may make it a regular occurrence.

Wine Tours & Tastings
Although the weather may have taken a slight turn for the worse, it is still quite possibly the best time of the year to visit us as you'll get an insight into harvest and maybe even taste some juice!
We're still running our Guided Tastings twice daily so if you want to learn about wine production and winemaking methods then this is perfect for you.
We also have a beautiful cosy bar for more casual self-guided tastings and bar snacks. With the turn in the weather, there's nothing better than an afternoon indoors wine tasting!
